Summary of Hamlet

Hamlet is a prince from the kingdom in Denmark. And the king of Denmark as his father had passed away because someone who had killed him by poison. He is Claudius, the person who had killed the king. Claudius is Hamlet’s uncle. And now he is step father to Hamlet because after the king was dead the Gertrude as mother of Hamlet, married with Claudius with the reason because the kingdom needs a king to lead them.

Hamlet so angry, he can’t accept the truth. He is so disappoint with his mother and step father who Claudius is his own uncle. And he was hated this condition because his father was dead recently but his mother was doing marriage. He was so sad and crying all the time, and his close friend, Horatio came to him and asking what happen to him. And he also told him about he saw the ghost who he is a Hamlet’s father. The ghost told him about Claudius is bad person, he had killed by his self. But Hamlet didn’t believe to Horatio.  And Hamlet went to the night with Horatio and wanted to prove the truth.

Finally Hamlet and Horatio met with the ghost of his father. Horatio was afraid to saw the ghost as like Hamlet but his angered more high than his afraid. Then the ghost invited him to believe with him. The ghost told him about the bad side of Claudius as a king and uncle. The ghost also told to him about what the reason he was dead. It’s all because Claudius gave poison to his ears when he took a nap in the garden of the castle. He also told to him, if he should be careful to Claudius because he is a bad king who wants the wealth and the power only.

The ghost lost as sudden, then they back to the castle and discussed to Horatio to face this problem. Horatio as loyal Hamlet’s friend gave him a solution to resolve his problem. Horatio said to him, if he should makes a performance as theater and all the people have to watch your performance. And finally Horatio’s idea accepted by Hamlet, and then he looked for actors who can help him to playing the drama. And Horatio also asked him to pretend be mad in other to trap Claudius. And Polonius as the lord chamberlain judge Hamlet become mad cause Hamlet so love his daughter, Ophelia. They believed that Ophelia can helping Hamlet go out from his mad.

The time came, the performance day will be able. People who in the castle watching the theater. The performance tells about the murderer of Hamlet’s father who put the poison into ears of the king when the king taking a nap in the garden. The drama so good and all of the people gave many applauses. But so difference attitude from Claudius who the only person is angry and felt uncomfortable with this condition. He screamed out to stop that performance, and his face so worried if one day the people will know who he is. Then he went out and leaved that room.

Hamlet so satisfy causes he was succeed to knowing the truth. Hamlet went to the Gertrude’s bedroom to asking to her about reaction of Claudius when showing the drama. He also still wanted to know about the fact who is the killer of his father. But Gertrude did not give him little bit information and it made him so angry and did something coarse to his mom. Gertrude asked some helps, she was screamed out so loudly. Then Polonius helped her to by shout out so hard from a bathroom behind of the curtain who he was arrived in the Gertrude’s bedroom first to asking what happen and how Hamlet made that’s drama.

Hamlet though who he is Claudius be angry and crazy. He pricked Polonius with his sword. Then Polonius dead and Hamlet realized who he is not Claudius but Polonius. Gertrude shouted out so hard and made all of the people come to her room. And here Claudius used his occasion to send Hamlet in England to studying and deleted his bad action to Polonius from the people in the castle. But actually his purpose is he wants evacuated Hamlet from the castle because he is so afraid if one day all of them know who the killer of the king.

Hamlet and Horatio went out to the castle, and there he went not to study but prepare the battle and asking a help to a prince from other kingdom. And in other side, Ophelia as a woman who was so love him be sad and crying all the time because her father was dead by a man who she loves. Laertes as Ophelia’s brother who just back from France so sad to looking the condition of Ophelia who always crying and laugh alone like a crazy women and especially he so sad when heard about his father dead. He was so angry with Hamlet who is killer of his father and a man that makes his young sister got depression. This happen used by Claudius to make a deal with Laertes to dissolved Hamlet side.

Hamlet decided to back in the castle, but in the road he showed a funeral. Then he wanted to know who is dead. And he was so surprised when he knew Ophelia was dead because she was got depression then kill her own self by sunk the river. Hamlet so sad and so disappoint to his own self who had killed Polonius, then it caused why Ophelia dead. Hamlet came to the castle, and there was Laertes gave a challenge to him by did sword games. Hamlet accepted it and they started to play. Laertes who is crafty, he put the poison on his sword. In the first, second, and third Hamlet always more dominant than Laertes for the battles, and Laertes was started revolted to him and started to put the poison on his sword. Beside it, Claudius put the poison into the Hamlet’s glass and he asked him to take a drink because the battle makes him so tired.

Hamlet refused Claudius’s asking and finally Gertrude who was drinking the poison to increase Hamlet’s spirit. Poison entered to her body as fast and finally she realized if she was poisoned by Claudius from the water of grapes that the function to Hamlet. Hamlet so surprised and lost the focus of the battle. And it was the occasion of Laertes side to make a scar by his poison sword. Hamlet was bruised, and the other side his mother realized him and all the people if she was poisoned by the drinking. And finally his mother was dead in that place.

Hamlet confused what shoud be he did and finally he decided for finishing the battle. He killed Laertes with Laertes’s sword and when Laertes was agony, Laertes gave Hamlet the truth if he and Claudius made an agreement to kill his self with the way put a poison on Laerter’s sword and the drinking that his mother drank. And that happen Hamlet was got scar by Laertes’s sword and it means that Hamlet had poisoned and will dead. And then Laertes dead like his mother.

Hamlet so surprised and so sad for the truth, he was going dead too. But before all so late he decided to kill Claudius by his sword. Claudius dead and he felt so good more than before. Then Hamlet asked his loyal friend, Horatio, to submit the throne to Price of Norway, young Fortinbras, so Horatio isn’t need to attack Denmark to defeat it. And finally Hamlet died and Horatio is the one who alive. And the kingdom was led by Prince of Norway, the young fortinbras.
